The Meandu Mine is owned by Tarong Energy and is operated by Thiess Australia Mining. The Tarong Coal Project - Meandu Mine is our major sponsor for the Tarong Coal Project - Meandu Mine Thresher Pull, which will see teams from around the nation flex their muscles to take out the annual title. In addition to the Thresher Pull, this year the Tarong Coal Project - Meandu Mine is also providing a new tarmac surface for this wildly popular event to help ensure optimum performance from all the teams involved.

Mission Australia are located to 101 Youngman Street in Kingaroy. They are a Job Network provider and an Australian Apprenticeship Support Services Centre. They also run Language Literacy & Numeracy Programs and a Personal Support Program. Mission Australia is the proud sponsor of the Junior Queensland Strong Man Games at the 2008 Peanut Festival.

BGA AgriServices are the South Burnett's leading agricultural supplies company and their popular Field Days routinely draw hundreds of agricultural producers who are keen to stay up to date with the latest developments in farming technology. The Kingaroy Peanut Festival is benefiting from a $25,000 investment under the Queensland Events Regional Development Program (QERDP). QERDP is a State Government initiative designed to take unique and creative regional events to their full potential. Since the program began in 2001 - and right up to the start of 2008 - more than $10 million has been invested in over 500 events in regional Queensland.

The South Burnett Regional Council is the local government that covers Kingaroy and is heavily involved not only in the usual work carried out by local governments everywhere but also in tourism promotion, regional expansion, the development of the local economy and the support of community events. Council is responsible for the laying and upkeep of the bitumen runway where we hold the annual Tarong Coal Project - Meandu Mine Thresher Pull.

Little Peanuts Early Learning CentreLittle Peanuts Early Learning Centre

The Little Peanuts Early Learning Centre at 215 Haly Street in Kingaroy opened for business in October 2005. The Centre caters for children aged from 6 weeks to 12 years of age and they offer before and after-school care and vacation care. They have a courtesy bus for children and provide them with morning and afternoon teas as well.

The Peanut VanThe Peanut Van

The Peanut Van was established in Kingaroy in 1969 and is now one of the town's best-known tourist icons. They're open seven days a week and are one of the first things most visitors see when they drive into Kingaroy. The Peanut Van sells 16 types of flavoured peanuts as well as boiled, chocolate-coated and roasted peanuts. In 2005 they opened a second outlet in Childers and in 2007 opened a third outlet at Chermside in Brisbane; and then a fourth outlet at Aussie World on the Sunshine Coast. In addition to van sales, they ship orders for Kingaroy's wonderful peanuts via the Internet all over Australia and around the world.

Ergon Energy are the South Burnett's major electricity suppliers and they also supply electricity and related products and services to around 600,000 customers across regional Queensland. Their mission is to provide customers with sustainable, quality energy solutions. The PCA Kingaroy Peanut Festival is very pleased to welcome them as a 2008 Festival sponsor.

Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and IndustryKingaroy Chamber of Commerce & Industry

The Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry is Kingaroy's peak business organisation and it operates from permanent offices in the Old Railway Station in O'Neill Square right in the heart of Kingaroy. The KCCI offers a wide range of services to the regional business community. These include organising six-weekly "Meet'n'Greet" networking meetings, the Women In Business network, annual Business Excellence Awards and providing event management services for organisations and groups both inside and outside the South Burnett. This year - as it has in previous years - the KCCI is organising and coordinating the Peanut Festival on behalf of the many groups involved with it.

South Burnett TimesSouth Burnett Times

The South Burnett Times are the publishers of the South Burnett's bi-weekly newspaper. The Times circulates right through the region from Benarkin to Bell's Bridge every Tuesday and Friday and they're the mainstay of our region's print media. The Times are part of the Australian Provincial Newspapers group and they also publish several other newspapers (eg: The Central and North Burnett Times, the Kingaroy Mail) along with a wide variety of other useful publications (eg: The Burnett Bridal Guide, Touring The South Burnett) from their Kingaroy offices. They've played an invaluable role in publicising our Festival and we greatly appreciate their help.

C-FM Radio 89.1 FMC-FM 89.1 FM

C-FM 89.1 is the South Burnett's s most listened-to radio station, with approximately 18,000 people tuning in each day. It broadcasts right through the region from Blackbutt to Proston. C-FM plays "Today's Best Music", which means more of your favourite music from the 90's and today. Lizzy and Hamish - the C-FM Morning Crew - kick start the day and are followed by MJ with CF-M's Workday, The Big K, The Benchwarmers and Age & Rene from 7:00pm. This year we're very proud to have C-FM 89.1 as radio sponsors of the PCA Kingaroy Peanut Festival.
