Were You Ever a Peanut Festival Queen? August 21, 2009 - One of the popular parts of past Kingaroy Peanut Festivals was the formal ball and the crowning of the Peanut Festival Queen. This year, as we're marking the 50th anniversary of the first Peanut Festival, we'd like to honour former Peanut Festival Queens by featuring them in the parade. There are some famous "Queens" are out ... including Moya Hayden, (right), mum of champion cricketer Matthew. But we've lost track of some of our other "royalty". Come Along And Join The Parade! August 17, 2009 - To help celebrate the 50th birthday of the Kingaroy Peanut Festival, we've decided to bring back the PARADE! It's going to be a little bit different than in past years but we think it will still be heaps of fun and we'd like to invite as many community groups as possible to take part! The parade will be marshalled in the area at the rear of Kewpie and BGA Agriservices in Youngman Street (please enter this area via First Avenue). The parade will then proceed through the Showgrounds with some entrants then taking up their positions within the Festival area and others exiting via Avoca Street. If you're interested in taking part in the parade, please ring us ASAP on (07) 4162-3899 or (07) 4163-6854 so we can allocate you a position. Entry into the parade is free (and, as a special bonus, everyone who takes part in the parade will also get free entry into the Showgrounds to enjoy the rest of the festival!)

Lance Friend Joins Peanut Festival Line-Up! July 31, 2009 - Aussie country music star Lance Friend will be providing live entertainment at this year's Peanut Festival. Come along to hear Lance sing he latest hit "Condamine", (below), on the Ergon Energy stage as well as a heap of other well-known songs!
