There'll Be Hot Competition
In Harvey Norman Marquee

September 1, 2009 - One of the many new features at this year's PCA Kingaroy Peanut Festival is the Harvey Norman and Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE's Great BBQ Cook Off.

The cook-off marquee, located in the heart of the Festival grounds, will feature 14 trade displays including local wineries, food producers and electrical brands, as well as a unique cooking competition.

This will consist of three divisions with two competitors in each competing for great prizes. Divisions are: School students, TAFE students and Open Age. Competitors must not be qualified chefs.

For a chance to enter, simply drop your favourite mouth-watering BBQ recipe into Harvey Norman's Kingaroy store by September 9 and you could be invited to recreate your culinary masterpiece at the Kingaroy Peanut Festival.

Divisional prizes are:
  • Open Age - $899 BeefEater barbecue
  • TAFE Student - $899 Everdure barbecue
  • School Student - $1000 Sunbeam Coffee Machine for the school and a $200 Harvey Norman gift voucher for the student
The winning recipes will be judged by Mike Giles (Silver Lining), Jason Ford (SQIT) and Kelli McArthur (CROW-FM).

The Harvey Norman tent will be open to the public from 10:00am to 5:00pm but the actual competition will run from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

As well, there'll be a lucky door prize of a Blanco Microwave to be won and other great giveaways.
