Every Ball Wins A Prize!
September 9, 2009 - That's the promise for the return of a Kingaroy favourite ... the Great Ping Pong Ball Drop.

Sponsored by First Avenue Machinery and Redland Farm and Garden, the 2009 Great Ping Pong Ball Drop will occur just after the end of the Parade at the Kingaroy Showgrounds.

Toni Park, (right), and the rest of her family have been busy marking up 500 ping pong balls and collecting the prizes in the lead-up to the big day.

If you're lucky enough to catch a ping pong ball on Saturday morning, take it to the Organisers Tent before 2pm to exchange it for your prize.

While working hard for the Peanut Festival and Redland Farm and Garden, somehow Toni Park managed to squeeze in having a baby ... young Charlie, (top right), doesn't seem all that fussed by all the excitement of his first Peanut Festival!
The Giant Peanuts Are Coming!
September 7, 2009 - To help get Kingaroy into an even more nutty mood in the lead-up to the Festival, giant peanuts are starting to pop up all around town.

The cardboard cutouts are making guest appearances all over the place ... including in Shoppingworld, Burning Beats and in the foyer at the South Burnett Times, (left), where Our Country FM's Michael Monk ran into one.

Michael will be the MC on the day and will be looking after the Ergon Energy Stage.

Also keep an eye open for Kingaroy's older papier mache peanuts which are also starting to reappear inside and outside shops.

These old guys and gals have been around for a few years but they're always popular with shoppers!

Ergon Energy's popular Percy the Peanut is also getting a final spruce up for his annual big day out.

Ergon administration assistant Bianca Green, (left), helped give Percy a polish.
Are You Taking Part In The Parade?
September 2, 2009 - A parade has always been a popular part of the Kingaroy Peanut Festival ... so we just had to bring it back for this year's 50th anniversary event!

But as times change, the parade had to change too ... this year it will be at the Kingaroy Showgrounds but it will still be heaps of fun for everyone!

The assembly area for the parade is the land at the rear of Kewpie and BGA Agriservices at the southern end of the showgrounds - we'd like to take this opportunity to thank these businesses for their assistance!

Please enter the marshalling area via First Avenue.

Marshalling for the parade will begin here at 10am.

The parade will then proceed through the showgrounds. The best spots to watch it will be at the southern end of the showgrounds, near the Thresher Pull strip and along the path in this vicinity.

If you're taking part in the parade, there's a bonus ... entry into the Festival will be free!

Entry into the parade is also free but we ask that all groups and individuals contact the Parade organisers on (07) 4163-6854 as soon as possible to confirm their participation so we can allocate you a parade position.

NB. Please be aware a local concrete company will have agitator vehicles traversing First Avenue near the parade marshalling site. Please take care in this vicinity.
